Here are some of the highlights of Brittany and Jared’s wedding!
I’ve previously photographed this lovely couple’s engagement session in Downtown Celebration, and they’re still just as sweet as ever. Preparations began at the stunning Alfond Inn in Winter Park. Brittany looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress, going for a modest style in a traditional white. Her V-neck gown had a fanback skirt that elegantly trailed behind her as she walked down the aisle. The main point of Brittany’s ensemble was probably her bright cobalt blue heels hidden under her dress.
Jared, on the other hand, looked handsome in an anchor gray tuxedo, and a teal tie to match. A lightning-shaped pin was attached to the end of his sleeves – a simple yet highly amusing symbol of his love for The Flash. Since the couple followed a theme of teal and gold, the bridesmaids wore matching single shoulder dresses in teal, while the groomsmen sported gold ties to match their flint vests.
The entire day, from preparation to reception, had been a beautiful and relaxing one. Before the ceremony, instead of a First Look, the couple decided on a First Touch instead. While intriguing and something new, it was also highly emotional. Standing with their backs pressed against each other’s, they held hands, prayed together, and then exchanged gifts. The ceremony was held at the First Congregational Church of Winter Park where the couple shared their handwritten vows to each other. It was a rather intimate and calm crowd, the couple having only invited their closest family and friends, all of which were wonderfully friendly and kind people.
We experienced a little rainfall during the day, but everyone simply braved on, huge smiles ready as we took plenty of formal yet charming post-ceremony photos. When it was time for reception, the couple and their guests moved to the Winter Park Farmers’ Market. Despite being a laidback couple, they had a silly and creative side to them. Brittany incorporated little hints of Dr. Who, The Flash, and their love for travel throughout the event, yet still managed to keep things subtle and elegant. After the heartwarming speeches, just before the cake-cutting, Jared played a song he wrote for his new wife. It was a very romantic moment that everyone enjoyed.
