I don’t always photograph huge traditional Weddings. Occasionally, I get the opportunity to photograph the small understated days too. I capture both in exactly the same way as much as humanly possibly. The luxury of the more intimate nuptials are that the time constraints are either non-exsistant or not just felt as dramatically as the “typical” day. This allows one to breath a bit clearer and see even more than what’s in front of you which is great exercise and reminder for future events. Christine and Greg’s day in particular reminded me of a lot things that I’m aware of automatically and of things I should do at every Wedding I encounter. It’s so easy to get lost in moments and let the small stories sounding that moment get engulfed by the magic of it all. But this day made me take more of a step back, exercise the things I already know, and push myself to try different things. This gorgeous day started off in Tampa, FL at Whole Aveda salon with Christine, her family, and bridesmaids getting their hair and makeup done. It was the first time I had ever met Christine as we had communicated only via email by that point. She was as friendly and warm as I expected she would be and more, I just knew it was going to be a lovely day to capture some great moments. Later, Christine & Greg exchanged vows and rings during their beautiful ceremony at Incarnation Catholic Church and they proceeded to take their first steps down the aisle as husband and wife. A small reception was held for the happy couple upon the roof of Tampa Westin overlooking the water. Photos were concluded before the reception which I hear was a lovely evening overall. I enjoyed capturing this day for Christine and Greg immensely. I can’t wait to be back in Tampa for a Wedding again in the near future!
