Couple: Cecily & Steven
Location: Kraft Azalea & Casa Feliz, Winter Park, Florida
Cecily and Steven’s lovely engagement session began at Kraft Azalea. I initially met Cecily and Steven in Downtown Winter Garden, and instantly hit it off. Cecily has lived in England, and also has family from there, so there was an instant connection between us among other interests that we have in common.
For the first half of the shoot, the couple kept it casual. Cecily wore a white, off-shoulder blouse to match her jeans and caramel-colored sandals. It’s a simple look, but overall charming. Meanwhile Steven sported an almost-cerulean button-up polo shirt with his camel-colored khaki shorts. Cecily showed off her engagement ring – an asscher cut diamond surrounded by smaller jewels. Simply stunning! During this time, they had their beautiful dog, Luna, tag along for a few snaps. Luna could pass off as a direwolf from the Game of Thrones!
By the time we started the latter part of the shoot, the sun had already began to set, but the dim, orange lighting we got from the outdoor lamps added a genuine romantic vibe that you can easily see and feel from the photos alone. Cecily changed into a floral dress in a light peacock-shade, while Steven wore a gray baseball shirt with black sleeves, and a simple pair of jeans. Steven’s attire for both halves of the shoot definitely matched his laidback personality.
Lately, I’ve been using session playlists for photoshoots which, I feel, has helped add sincerity to each shot. To top it off, the couples are also assigned some “homework,” and that is to plan a surprise for their other half which will be presented during the session. In this case, Steven wrote a genuine letter expressing his love for and devotion to his fiancée. While a very relaxed guy, it’s easy to tell that he thinks the world of his beautiful bride-to be. This was a very touching and heartwarming moment between the two of them.
I am beyond excited to capture their wedding day!
