So, everything appears to be coming together before the first half of Wedding Season for 2015 and it’s all very exciting as the countdown begins. Until then, I still have a bunch of gorgeous engagement sessions to share on the blog and some stunning Weddings to follow as we catch up to the closing of last year. This particular posts features the lovely Niccole and her Brian who wed at Dubsdread back in November (I can’t wait to share a few image from their beautiful Wedding day too!). Their engagement session was a blast as expected and I actually believe their shoot is a great example of a couple who put together their outfits perfectly. I mostly always try to inspire couples to think about at least one outfit change during their session. Depending on the circumstance, we normally start with a dressy-casual outfit such as jeans/pants and cute top. Heels are also great for posture but I’m also a sucker for Brides who can rock a flat boot too. 😉 The second outfit I will try to have the couple lean towards something a little more dressy such as a cute dress and heels or something they might wear on a date night with their hubby-to-be. As a photographer, I feel like a new outfit gives me fresh ideas and looks to try. For instance, I’m likely to photograph a lot more siting-on-the-ground/grass images when the Bride is wearing jeans as opposed to if she’s wearing a dress or skirt. Partly for modesty’s sake and partly because those images tend to breath casualness and playfulness just as jeans or shorts might suggest. All sessions vary of course but generally this is my thought process when suggesting looks for couples. My “expertise” in mens clothing however, only goes so far so I just try to encourage them to wear something that they’re comfortable in and that compliments their partners outfit. As long as there’s no costume clothing or workout gear we’re all good! 😉 Accessories can be EVERYTHING and are definitely the small details that pull an outfit together for photos. I love to see glitzy or colorful earrings, scarves, trendy hats, belts, or complimentary jewelry as those items tend to photograph really well when paired with a great outfit. All in all, we had a great session venturing around Historic Winter Garden. These two are a fabulous couple and their Wedding day was just as gorgeous!
