Bride & Groom: Dunia & Josh
Location: Winter Park, Florida
Love was in the air during Josh and Dunia’s engagement session.
The first half proved to be nothing but sweet and charming. The shoot was reminiscent of a stroll in modern Europe. There were greenery and pops of scarlet florals in a variety of locations in New England Avenue which acted as soft and lovely touches to the already romantic ambience. Each capture was alive with vivid colors!
The couple blended beautifully in their simple, but matching, ensembles. Josh wore a minimalistic, plain button-down and syrup-brown leather shoes to coincide with his peacock green slacks, easily paired with Dunia’s dress of the same shade. Dunia accentuated the modest look with bright, currant-colored heels that matched with the blossoms that surrounded them.
For the latter half of the shoot, the couple decided to change into something a little more casual. Josh sported plain jeans and a white sweater vest, while Dunia wore a black, off-shoulder blouse with rosy-white floral details along the upper hem, paired with black slacks and camel-colored pumps. The enclosed stairway and glass elevator added some intimate elements to the overall shoot.
On that note, here are some additional notes and tips.
New England Avenue is close to one of my favorite streets in Winter Park. However, it’s actually rather tough to hold shoots, especially during the weekends, since it’s so heavily saturated with other photographers shooting their own sessions. If anybody wants to hold their engagement session in New England Avenue, I highly suggest doing it during early morning or afternoon on a weekday. Once you manage to get enough photos, the outcome is absolutely stunning. That’s why it’s such a popular place. Regardless, I was able to try my hand at some new techniques I learned from the Possible Photography workshop I attended back in New York! J
