Bride & Groom: Stephanie & Michael
Location: Up The Creek Farms – Malabar, FL
Here are some highlights from Stephanie and Michael’s engagement session. They had the shoot in Up the Creek Farms which will be the same venue for their wedding in October. It’s a lovely place, very outdoorsy with lots of greenery. The white picket fences and barn houses with wooden trinkets and treasure chests gave the whole shoot a charming rustic theme. Overall, the place definitely fits their concept seeing as they brought their rescue dog, Lucy, which is super adorable! I think having their dog tag along for parts of their shoot really molded the whole concept together. I, for one, absolutely adore dogs, and love it when couples bring their furry babies to engagement shoots. However, there are some things to consider when you decide to have your pet tag along in the duration of the shoot. This isn’t limited to dogs, but generally goes out to most of our furry buddies as well.
- First of all, make sure pets are allowed on location. Once that’s settled, the rest will be easy. 🙂
- Definitely bring treats! Treats can act as incentives for when they’re being a good boy or girl. (Squeaky toys are also excellent for getting your dogs attention towards the camera!)
- Bring a friend or a family member to help watch over your pet halfway through the session. This is in case your pet gets tired or restless, thus will be tougher to handle.
- Don’t forget to bring water – for both you and your precious baby. Stay hydrated while making sure your favorite furry friend stays hydrated as well!
Now, on to the rest of the shoot! 🙂
Michael sported a classic look: white polo and a pair of good jeans. Stephanie turned to a brighter route by rocking a long-sleeved blouse with Aztec magenta patterns, adding a little bohemian flair to her plain white shorts. Meanwhile, Lucy wore a chalkboard sign around her neck that says “My parents are getting married.” So cute! Stephanie’s engagement ring also proved to be a showstopper. It’s a round cut on a silver band – simple and stunning! For the latter half of the shoot, Stephanie changed into a crimson dress with rosy prints. The swing set added a vintage vibe to their already folksy aesthetic. Finally, the sunset was a lovely touch to the photos, and a beautiful way to end the day.
